This piece is one of my first experiments with charcoal, where I was exploring how to control its messy nature and create evocative atmosphere. I used tape on the paper to block out the highlights while I layered on the charcoal, and peeling that back after created an interesting chunky texture to the clouds.

Charcoal on acid-free 400 series Strathmore bristol paper, 2013. Sprayed with a fixative to prevent smudging. Hand-signed by the artist, unframed. Framing available for an additional fee, message the artist to discuss. As with any indoor artwork, avoid exposure to direct sunlight. Reproductions may not be made without permission.

17” x 11 1/2" paper.

Artwork ships flat. Please allow 14 business days to receive.
