Backstory

These paintings were inspired by a morning hike at Lake Tahoe, where I watched the sun slowly rise across the mountains and water of Emerald Bay. It’s remarkable how an ordinary, repeated moment can feel so grounding and profound.

This collection is an invitation to slow down and feel the awe of this quiet, early light. When life feels rushed and fragmented, these works offer a gentle reminder to pause, reflect, and reconnect.

Collection Details

I use watercolor’s natural granulation and drippy, atmospheric effects to create an abstracted sense of terrain. The balance between controlled form and looser mark-making reflects the tension between stability and instability in lived experience, as well as how memory blends specific details with emotion over time.
