Frozen Dislocation

This collection marks a period where I was fascinated by the intricate organic architecture of animal mouths, and the surreal effect of isolating them within dense organic textures. Rather than being a mere animal portrait, these pieces become a fusion of figurative rendering and textural abstraction. With a open jawed position suggesting kinetic action, going after prey - when removed from their bodily context become more like sculpture.
