Artwork Backstory

At certain times of the year Idyllwild gets very thick fog passing through it’s mountainous terrain. I was lucky to visit it during this time, and was entranced by the mystical effect it had on the landscape. These are two charcoal drawings I made to celebrate this amazing place.

Creative Concept

These drawings tell two views of the same   story - from above the foggy forest and from within it. I use both additive mark making with charcoal as well as lots of fine tipped erasers to create the highlights.
